Metal Ducts — Design, Fabrication & Installation

Quiet, durable airflow done right. Metal ducts (galvanized steel) hold their shape, resist damage, and deliver smoother airflow than tired or kinked flex. We design, fabricate, and install sealed, insulated duct systems for even temperatures and lower noise.

Why choose metal

  • Durability & cleanliness: hard walls resist crushing, pests, and dust buildup
  • Better airflow: sized trunks/branches with smooth transitions and turning vanes
  • Low noise: lined sections or proper grille sizing tame “whistle” and rumble
  • Service life: metal outlasts flex in attics/crawls and stays in spec over time

What we install

  • Trunks & plenums: rectangular or spiral/round sheet metal
  • Branches & takeoffs: round runs with balancing dampers
  • Sound options: internally lined sections for return air where needed
  • Sealing & insulation: UL-181 mastic/tape + R-8 insulation in unconditioned spaces
  • Hardware: drive/S-cleats, radius elbows, turning vanes, vibration isolation

When it’s the right upgrade

  • Uneven rooms, high static pressure, or short cycling
  • Crushed/long flex runs, noisy returns, or leaky joints
  • Renovations/additions where ducts must be rerouted cleanly
  • Zoning-ready layouts (dampers now or later)

How we size & verify (simple)

We calculate room loads and target design airflow (often ~400 CFM per cooling ton), then build trunks/branches to hit those numbers. After install we measure static pressure and room CFM, and adjust dampers so each space gets its share.

Installation process

  1. On-site assessment: load, layout, returns, equipment position, access
  2. Design & written pricing after the visit: metal vs. flex mix, insulation, sound treatment
  3. Fabrication & install: sealed joints, proper supports, smooth transitions
  4. Test & balance: verify static/CFM, set dampers, confirm temperature and noise levels
  5. Handoff: filter sizes, access points, simple maintenance tips

Pair metal ducts with a high-capacity media filter (MERV 11–13) and ECM blower for quiet, efficient operation.
